Used Auto Parts: Over 80 "auto parts recyclers" agreed to put a site together to attract business and then compete for it!
I have put in a request for quote and gotten several responses, picking the perfect part for less than a third of the price that a local salvage yard quoted.  That being said (as it were),  I think they deserve at least a mention in a list of favorite sites.

refdesk.com.  Reputed to be being used by librarians all over the country to give more immediate answers to questions, telephoned or otherwise.  Web custodian's personal experience  is that the page is most useful using the "find(on this page) function of your browser.  That is:  If you are curious about the name of Noah's wife, find "Bible" and go from there.
